Move over, meat. We're grilling veggies.

If your veggies often come from a can or bag, your taste buds will explode after trying them fresh on the grill. The world of grilled fruits and vegetables has much more flavor. With the variety of produce at farmers markets right now, you have lots of options... especially if you use markets that DOUBLE your SNAP dollars!  Not sure where to start? Here are a few tips:

1. Slice these in half (or leave whole*) to grill:

*asparagus and corn should be left whole for grilling

2. Skewer these:

3. Prevent sticking.

Brush fruits and veggies with olive oil or lightly coat them with cooking spray before popping on the grill.

4. Sprinkle on your seasonings.

Sprinkle on garlic powder, smoked paprika, or salt and pepper after brushing on oil. The flavor will really come through during cooking! Check out these sodium-free spice blends for ideas.

5. Top them off.

Once cooked, try topping your veggies with basil pesto, chimichurri, or veggie top pesto for even more flavor.
