Budget Pantry

Below are some affordable, healthy foods to look for at the grocery store when stocking your home (pantry). The colored boxes show you which food group the item belongs in.

The MyPlate image shows you what a healthy meal looks like. When shopping, try to buy foods from all of the food groups, so that you can have healthy, balanced meals.

  • Apples / Applesauce
  • Bananas
  • Raisins
  • Citrus fruits like lemons, limes and oranges

Vegetables

  • Root Vegetables like carrots, rutabaga, turnips and onions
