What is Physical Literacy?
Physical literacy is the ability, confidence, and desire to be physically active for life.

The ABCDE's of Physical Literacy
Ability – Can a child do the basic skills that are required to play a variety of activities? Can they run, catch, throw, kick, hit a ball, jump?
Balance – Does a child have an appropriate balance of health in their life – physical activity, nutrition to fuel their body, coping skills for their mental well-being?
Confidence – Does a child think they can participate in a game or activity with their friends and classmates?
Desire – Does a child enjoy being active? Do they look forward to games or activities that will make them break a sweat?
Explorative Nature – Is a child exposed to a variety of different types of activities and games? Are they willing to try new activities (sport sampling)?
