Save money with Unit Pricing
When we compared unit prices between this large can of salmon and a smaller version of the same brand, it was obvious that the larger can was a better buy at $4.22/lb vs $7.00/lb!  

Budget Pantry Tips

Budget Pantry
  1. Plain cereal is a great item to have in your pantry.  Cereal without added sugars or flavorings can be used to replace crackers or breadcrumbs in many recipes like these Salmon Patties.  Check out this blog post for more information and tips!  

  2. Be flexible with your fruits and veggies.  Many recipes call for specific kinds of fruits or vegetables, but lots of times they can be changed.  The Salmon Pasta Bake below calls for frozen peas, but if you have frozen broccoli, spinach or green beans you could use those instead! ​

  3. Eggs are an awesome pantry item.  They last for about 6 weeks in the refrigerator.   Cooking eggs with any vegetables you have is a healthy, quick and easy, budget friendly meal for anytime of the day!  You could have this Green Eggs recipe for breakfast, lunch or dinner!
