Fiesta Hummus

At SNAP4CT, we LOVE beans. Try this recipe with vegetables, pita bread or on sandwiches! ​

​Makes:  6 servings

Ingredients
1 can (15 oz) garbanzo beans
½ tsp cumin
¼ tsp salt
1 dash cayenne pepper
2 garlic clove, minced
½ cup yogurt, plain, non-fat

Optional: lime juice, sesame oil, jalapeño, fresh cilantro

Instructions
  1. Drain and mash garbanzo beans in blender, food processor or with fork.
  2.  Add remaining ingredients.
  3. Blend until smooth. Serve chilled on crackers or tortilla chips. Promptly refrigerate leftovers.
